the Bank: Top 5 Places to Live w/ Increasing Incomes

Even in the face of a terrible, terrible (*in my Charles Barkley voice) economy with rising unemployment and decreasing salaries, these 5 cities salaries either grew or held strong. With the exception of Bakersfield, CA...each city has an unemployment rate under 10% and salary growth of at least 17% between 2005-09.

Hmmm so if you're one of the millions out of work and willing to move for new employment...I would suggest starting with these cities first.



1. El Paso, Texas

2. Bakersfield, Calif.

4. Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Newport News, VA-NC

Unemployment Rate:6.5%
