OURBLOC's Style of the Week - "Simple Reigns Supreme"
| What I'm wearing: Brown Safari Headband, Gold charm locket necklace, Crème & Grey tunic, Black tights, and Tan Moccasins What I love about my style: I am a firm believer in being comfortable in what you wear, but not too comfortable that it looks a mess. I enjoy wearing what I like rather than being told what I should be wearing. Which is why I like to keep everything simple by adding a cute hat, a few accessories or swapping flats for heels (at times). I like the confidence in knowing that simple changes can transcend my outfit, whatever the occasion. I am also a sporty girl, so I always ensure that my style doesn't scream 'tom boy'. |
MY TAKE:
Why this works? A lot of people believe that fashion must be over the top, exaggerated and insanely cutting edge. Well, fashion is what you make it, its your style. Tab knows all about her style; what works and what doesn't. She takes her "simple" style and made it pop with touches that bring her style full circle. What she loves about her style: "The thing that I love most about my style is its mine , I don't care what people think about it , I don't care if its what's in or not; if it fits me nice I wear it . No matter what "season" the style was in. I'm very comfortable with myself."
MY TAKE: why this works?? Chaztiney takes urban rebel to everyday Cali...Her gear is lively and innovative and don't get me started on those fab Purple peep toe flats with the random bow that bring her outfit full circle. fashion BLOC: Style of the Week - "Leopard Love"
Name: Simone Skye
Occupation: Singer/Songwriter in Houston, TX
I am a Firm believer in The Little Black Dress, but I like to have a flare with anything I do, so in this case I found the best of both worlds. Full Animal print can come off garish and trashy while all black can sometimes make you fade into the background, this dress along with understated jewelry and the complimenting hair color gave me the WoW factor I was looking for without looking too overdone!
What do you love about your style? I love that it's understated but somehow still catches peoples attention, plus it accentuates my curves but hides my flaws. lol
What inspires you about your style? The inspiration for the look is my bold take on the "Little Black Dress"; all Sassy Chic.
MY TAKE: Why this works? Its simple, sassy chic....Simone spruced up the LBD by snatching up one with a leopard top and like she said...the hair, the minimalist accessories, and natural sass say it all...GET IT! :-D Follow Simone on Twitter @SimoneSkye
