the Fashion BLOC: Project Runway - Teamed Messery

Its obvious as the season goes on, the stakes are getting higher. Hence, this episode starts out pretty intense.

Challenge: Teams of 2 to create a high-end signature look with $500.

Teams:
Jay and Maya
Jesus and Amy
Anthony and Seth Aaron
Ben and Janeane
Jonathan and Mila
Ping and Jesse
Emilio and Anna

Ping and Jesse seem like they are gonna struggle off the bat. Jesse most likely had his fingers crossed behind his back so she wouldn't pick him but it was inevitable. Ping is driving him insane with her randomness while Mila and Jonathan are perfect for each other. Seth Aaron and Anthony seem to be good but not sure just yet.

At Tim's Check-In...
He tells them they have to make another look that is a "look for less" inspired by another teams look. It has to be under $50 and not to mention, the team has to trust one of their teammates to go pick up the fabric. YIKES!

Jay was not even trying because he has immunity and we all know how Klum and Kors feel about people like that. Anthony is determined to work with Seth Aaron despite him being an arse which shows a lot about his character. He really knows how to work with different people, I like that ! ...AND Jesse and Ping continue to bicker and even though, Jesse told her the fabric she chose looked cheap she didn't listen although, Tim agreed. Most of them scramble, sashay, and do nothing to the very end.....man this is really season of the SaSHAY?!

To the Runway...

Judges Kors, Nina Garcia, Matthew Williamson and Klum announced that 1 or more may be getting cut. hmmm...

Nina told Mila she "really loved her signature" but they hated their look for less.

Kors calls Anthony's dress a "southern cotillion party from hell".

Despite a major diss to Seth Aaron and Anthony, Seth confronted them and said it was a 50/50 decision and he stands behind it 100% which was quite commendable. I don't know how many times I have watched people throw other people under the bus but he stood up to them. YAY AGAIN and about time someone stood up to them!

Despite the judges distaste for the look for less, Mila WINS with her signature look that was fun yet elegant and cool. A fab suit that separated her from the rest. On the other hand, Ping FINALLY got the boot and her poor execution finally bit her in the arse. This episode was filled with ups and downs, I'm sure that was only half of what will we see for the rest of this season. STAY TUNED....

Rants and Rave: Does Washington Even Care Anymore???

I watched both the State of the Union and the Republican response last night like millions others did, and one resounding question continues to resonate..."Does Washington Even Care About the American People Anymore?"

It's amazing the to hear the colorful artistry of words that paint a picture of politicians rolling up their sleeves and getting knee deep in the trenches to fix our Union. Then followed up by a softened statement that can easily be summed up as "Kind Sir you're a liar", but all said with a smile and fun quips. However, what remains in the balance is a real unemployment number of near 20% and even higher if one factors in the lost count of people who are under-employed. Again, does anyone in Washington care anymore?

Republicans are quick to say that they do not like the $787B stimulus bill that was passed and Democrats are swift to say look America this is for you, but in the end, over $500B still remains unspent. Democrats and Republicans alike are quick to point out that neither supported the TARP plan, but passed it because it was something that was required at that moment. TARP was for $700B of which $350B was immediately accessible, but only roughly $250B was spent. If you listen to the political posturing you would think we have not received a dime back, but the Fed has received over $187B back in the form of repayments and dividends. After all the liquidations and conversions are done, that number will go far higher, meaning the government will turn a huge profit. Again, does Washington Even Care About the American People?

We hear from both sides of the aisle that we need to put Americans back to work, but why is Washington slow on pulling the trigger? Republicans say that government should allow American business to fix itself through fostered support from Washington, but not full intervention. Democrats say that American business will fix itself and Washington will either donate or take a interest in making that happen. Confusing huh? I'm typing this post and it's difficult to understand what side to support. What's amazing is there are thousands of American roads and bridges that are near or over 50 years old and need to be replaced immediately, but very little money is flowing to these projects. The President will be in Tampa, Fl today to announce a new High Speed Rail project from Tampa to Orlando funded with government money. When former Florida Governor Jed Bush was asked by Matt Lauer of the Today Show if this was a good thing for the State of Florida, his response was "I don't know". What a wonderful response huh?

I ask one last time, Does Washington Even Care About the American People anymore? Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Lobbyists, and the White House...please hear the cry of the general American public. You were voted in by the People to work for the People and not to bicker about YOUR interest while your pockets continue to grow because of the People. Forget Partisanship and focus on Peopleship. Otherwise we will be no better than a third world nation where the people suffer and Politicians are wealthy and corrupt.

Thank you

the Outer Limits: Groundhog goes Digital....

PUNXSUTAWNEY, PA is known for their infamous Groundhog Day celebration where "Phil" predicts our weather future. Its tradition for this town and for as long as I've known it has always been that way but ummm ALL OF A SUDDEN....this year, PETA is proposing a robotic groundhog that replaces Phil. They claim there is no reason to keep him captive to only subject him to bright lights and huge crowds. Even though, Phil is kept in a climate-controlled area and is inspected on an annual basis by the state Department of Agriculture. Even, William Deeley, president of the Inner Circle of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, says the animal is "being treated better than the average child in Pennsylvania." LOL! I'm not even gonna touch that.

Anyhoot, these PETA activists are clearly bored and have nothing else to fight for....who cares about Polar Bears and Penguins when a groundhog is running the show....Nevertheless, I wonder how PETA plans on getting Phil out of there??? I wonder if they will do like Bill Murray did in this clip from Groundhog Day......ENJOY!
