the WALKMAN: Mixtape Review: R. Kelly Demo Tape

If you didn't get it the first time, here is your chance to get it now. This is one of those mixtapes you can put in, drop the top or open all the window and just ride out. Kels takes it back to when listening to R&B could get you dancing but at the same time was the prelude to getting it popping with that special someone or hot one night stand.
The intro starts off with Kels and DJ Baraka O'Drama aka Mr. Thanksgiving himself DJ Drama getting you hype as hell. Soon after the mixtape drops into "Kelly's 12 Play" by The Dream but crushes the remix in vintage R. Kellyisk style. It doesn't stop there, track 3 is quality but then the gearbox is slammed into overdrive with track 4 "Disrespect My Shorty" ft Plies. DISCLAIMER - you will put this joint on repeat and ride hard to it. Plies and Kelly make you understand that they will F you up if you come at them or their shorty sideways in the club, but it's presented in a style synonymous to a gansta laughing saying "I wish you would homie..."
As you get pulled deeper and deeper into the mixtape, you hit one of the most overused beats that repeatedly gets kilt with quality after quality artists; and Kels doesn't disappoint. The "Turn My Swag On" - track 12, let's all these wanna be carbon copies know that he wasn't the first to write, produce and sing but he is one of the best and their will not be another as hard as him while he is around [serious paraphrasing right now]. As I mentioned earlier, for that mood setting moment when you are trying to romance or seduce that love interest, the R gives you a plethora of music to go in on. Start with track 2, then jump to track 7 "Banging the Headboard" and show them where this night is headed. At track 8 "Pu**y Cry" there is no need to sugar coat it; its time to start putting in work. DISCLAIMER - if you scared then don't even turn this mixtape on.
I am sure that's enough and in the words of DJ Drama and R.Kels (*screaming*) "LISTEN-N-N-N TO THIS DEMO-O-O-O!!!!!!!!" Download the R. Kelly "Demo Tape" below the track listing.

New Music: He Went in on Mariah

Eminem comes back with a response to Obssessed - Mariah Carey and oh Boy did he go in on her. Mariah opened the can of worms when she basically denied that her and Em had a serious relationship. Now none of us know to what extent their involvement was, however, one can only assume that it's deeper than the way MC describes. The track is laced with a satire of word play that cuts MC down at the knees, but Em spits it as if he is catching and laying her down gently. You can only compare this track to a man that poured gasoline all throughout the house and he is standing there with a lighter preparing to ignite an inferno. This bonfire of hate will commence, if and only if, Nick Cannon does the dumb and inevitable by responding to his wife's diss. For me, I think its not a matter of if, but when will the response drop? Hey Nick, heed to my advice...it's not worth it man... seriously it's not worth it. Going to war with Eminem is like playing fetch with a starving lion. Deep down though, I want Nick to respond.
Enjoy if you haven't heard the unedited version of "The Warning" - Eminem

Hear where it all began: Nas Demo Tape (1991)

The legend and story of the Nasty Nas began with his Demo Tape. Like every artist he dropped his demo tape, beat the pavement and tried to get on. From our research it was found that MC Serch got his hands on the tape and pitched it to Def Jam, but Def Jam said it was a no go [paraphrasing what was actually said] . From there Nas was pushed to Columbia Records and as we all know...the rest is history.
Download the Demo tape and take a walk back in time and listen to the Nasty Nas before he rose to a well respected Heavyweight in the Industry.

New Music: Cassie - Stamina - Pretty Hott Track

Cassie

Stamina

-SynOpsis-
The sometimes vocally challenged but always sexy and sultry Cassie has a potential cross over hit on her hands with this single. My prediction is that it won't be a instant hit, but after a cagillion spins on radio, ladies all over the country will be wondering if us fellas have Stamina.

New Music: Cory Gunz - Plenty Money

CORY GUNZ

PLENTY MONEY

Cory Gunz kilt this beat with his freestyle over Plies - Plenty Money. The beat is already hard and anyone who is not prepared to spits over this track, can easily get assinated by delivering wack lyrics. That wasn't the case for Cory Gunz who stood up to the monster beat and knocked it out fu*king cold.
Check it and let us know what you think.

Common girl’s hunt for personal style

What’s fab about fashion is that it’s innovative, new, fresh, sexy, conservative, anomalous, and ongoing. You can become anybody with a new look and a new look can make you somebody. I love to admit it too, my style sets me apart from the pack and I truly do love to constantly switch it, add to it and even, discover new perspectives. Your own style is the key though. Many women are plagued with the idea 22of being different or odd but fascinated in making one of those fabtabulous trends but it’s a fine line that needs to be drawn. Some may say that it takes a special woman to be able to identify what truly works for them. The fact is, you just got to be honest with yourself; if something doesn’t work for you then don’t even do it. For example, I know for a fact I cannot do a straight line, shapeless dress UNLESS I add a belt or wrap and even then, it has to be a must-have. But the next issue is finding something that does work. The reality is each piece, yes EACH, is different. We know it ladies, this is a no brainer and precisely the reason why men say we have the same shoe or else, why do we have 12 black shoes? Isn’t it obvious? Each shoe is different and you just have to try it out. Much like our clothes. Issue #3, however, is the robot, look-alike syndrome. In Atlanta, fashion is usually reduced to shopping in the malls and outlets. Since, malls rule Atlanta due to the typical chains for the common girl such as Forever 21, Level X, Wet Seal, Heritage, H & M and whatever other low budget addictions. This translates to women wearing the same things; typically you are at a restaurant, nightclub or basic pool party looking at the same outfits in your closet. But us girls like to switch it up, be different from the pack for those same types of prices, and we definitely exhibit this when we go to a club, lounge, on a first date or second, every birthday, friends birthdays, shall I go on or do you feel me? My suggestion for individual style and not so bad prices is internet and boutique shopping. I am just now getting used to searching for fab deals online and undiscovered boutiques like a maniac. Besides, I’m at the point where I want to find pieces that I genuinely love – seriously, you always need to shop for your “needs” & “wants” but every once in a while you find that thing that you truly love and would shoot the first person that dares to borrow, replicate or knock it. Well, not shoot, maybe just stab…......... I will be making my boutique visits all throughout Atlanta next week and giving my reviews but I challenge you to find some sites to search for great online buys and post them so we can compare.
