BLOC News: Cash for Clunkers Ends Monday

Let me begin with giving President Barack Obama a round of applause for doing something that worked and worked well. Many that oppose the "Cash for Clunkers" program complained that it was nothing more than just another government hand out that discriminated against individuals who did not own a clunker. Regardless of what your view is, the program worked and I applaud the effort.
+DISCLAIMER+
This piece is not to debate the factors of the program, but more so, to share with everyone that the program is coming to a close on Monday 8/24/2009. Now if you want to debate this in the OURBLOC.com comments area...bring it on. Always up for a great debate.

If you are in the market for a new car and you have a vehicle that qualifies for the "Cash for Clunkers" program, get out to your local car dealership before Monday close. Otherwise, you and the clunker will be Flintstoning it until another good program rolls around. The Clunkers program, offered a refund voucher worth up to $4,500 on trade-ins that received 18 mpg or less and fell within a qualifying year. Congress stated that the program was on the verge of running out of money for a second time and has elected to wind the program down rather than provide a second cash infusion. Again, call it a hand out; call it a environmental swap; call it a joke; call it a great program...it doesn't matter. The "Cash for Clunkers" program ends Monday, so make that move fast if you were thinking about participating.

Yea I think the program would have been more successful at the higher mileage, but I think we need to do more programs like this. My next suggestion is a instant government rebate for buying a computer
