the Mental Relaxation: Give Thanks on Thanksgiving Day
“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” - Psalm 100:4
Yes it’s Turkey Day, also known as Thanksgiving in today’s society. I remember back in the day when it was all about getting out of school and visiting friends and family. It wasn’t until I grew older that I learned the actual meaning of this holiday.
It’s not just about eating and chilling with family, because first you have to be thankful for the food you’re eating and for the family that surrounds you. Remember, some are not able to share this moment with their families, some are not fortunate enough to have a warm meal on this day. That’s why it’s important to appreciate what GOD has blessed us with and thank him for all HE has done.
I recall one Thanksgiving when my family and I would volunteered for “Hosea Feed The Hungry” in Downtown Atlanta. I handed out trays of food to the many of Atlanta’s homeless. I was surprised that I was not scared, but even as a child I remember feeling sad. Each time someone smiled and said “Thank You” I would fight back tears and smile. This experience reminded me how blessed I was to have the simple luxuries many of us take for granted.
Tomorrow when we see our families and friends, sit down and break bread in our warm homes, take a moment and spend time with GOD and thank HIM for the many blessings you’ve received this year. This is truly a year where we all should offer HIM many Thanks

OURBLOC's Style of the Week - "Simple Reigns Supreme"
| What I'm wearing: Brown Safari Headband, Gold charm locket necklace, Crème & Grey tunic, Black tights, and Tan Moccasins What I love about my style: I am a firm believer in being comfortable in what you wear, but not too comfortable that it looks a mess. I enjoy wearing what I like rather than being told what I should be wearing. Which is why I like to keep everything simple by adding a cute hat, a few accessories or swapping flats for heels (at times). I like the confidence in knowing that simple changes can transcend my outfit, whatever the occasion. I am also a sporty girl, so I always ensure that my style doesn't scream 'tom boy'. |

Why this works? A lot of people believe that fashion must be over the top, exaggerated and insanely cutting edge. Well, fashion is what you make it, its your style. Tab knows all about her style; what works and what doesn't. She takes her "simple" style and made it pop with touches that bring her style full circle. Question of the day: When are you MOST Thankful?
This is the time of the year when most people are openly thankful for many things such as blessings, life, seeing a year come to a close, etc. Now not passing judgment or what not, but I wonder if our Thanks around this time of year is in observance of the holiday {Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanaza] or does it actually have some substance?
Today's "Question of the day" has two parts:
When are you MOST thankful? Are you most thankful after a bad situation occurred or are you thankful at all times regardless of the life's many situations?
Are you openly thankful only around the Holidays or at all times?
There are no bad answers, so be honest and thank you in advance for the feedback

This PSA is not only meant for Teenagers; it's meant for adults as well. I know their are many adult that are guilty of sending a text message(s) while driving. This video will definitely add a new face to the dangers of sending a text message while driving.
*WARNING* The video is graphic, but it needs to be shared. If you are a parent, teacher, guardian, mentor, person of authority responsible for teens...watch this video. Then share it with as many students as possible. Be sure to have open dialog about the video. Hopefully this video and active conversations about this topic, will save the lives of many.
