Rants and Raves: I'm Tired of the Whoa Is Me Black Professional Woman

First watch the video:

Here's a fact from the video: 42% of Black Women have never been married.

Here's my response:

This is hilarious LOL I love it...let's call this the decimation of the educated black man. It's funny to me how many Black "Professional" Women say there are no successful Black Men out here for them, but hmm as the one woman stated if they are not 6'5, chiseled chest, showing the world the money they do have...these women won't deal with them.

In the video you have a high school counselor, a payroll specialist, a prosecutor who doubles as a Atlanta Falcons cheerleader, and the only professional up there a Chemist. When asked what they look for in a man not one stated any criteria worthy of a selection. Then Steve Harvey comes on and provides a comment so he can retain a listener or sell a book. I really wish this old wanna be pimp would sit down and shut the hell up.

I'm a professional who's lived in Atlanta for years and the funny thing is it took me meeting someone outside of Atlanta to date since most Atlanta Woman want their men to meet the facade. They want a man who makes $100K a year, but spends $250K to please them. Most Black women want a man who spends $150 for dinner, but pulls out the platinum Amex and not the bank card. Is it lowering their standards or is it maybe they need to accept the fact that their standards are far lower than that of a professional Black man?

I can only speak for myself, however, I feel that many WOMEN not just Black women,  lack the true ambition that a man is required to have. Yes it sounds chauvinistic, but in the end I've crossed paths with many women who desire to grow professionally, not because they want to accomplish greatness, but because they want to find a man. It's funny to me how many WOMEN create a laundry list of qualities a man should meet to be with them, but they themselves don't meet even half of their own list.

This video is just another means to beat down an already down-trotted segment of our race. Here's one question that a responder asked on Elev8 [blog where I saw this post]... I wonder how many of these 42% of Black Woman who have never been married have more than 1 kid? How many of these same women don't have an abundance of emotional issues and baggage?  I would like to add to that ... how many of these "financially successful" woman have over a 550 credit score or a savings account?

How about we end the internal fighting and focus on uplifting and not beating down. To the Black Women who believe this to be fact, how about you stare at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself this one question "Am I Worthy of the Man I Desire?" It's a hard pill, but I'm sure most will say No, but keep that one to yourself.

the Mental Relaxation: Will You Be Mine

Everybody remembers back in the day if you had a crush on somebody or vice versa you’d receive the piece of notebook paper saying “Do you like me? Check, yes, no or, maybe” and when that date of Valentines comes around your constantly harassed with cheesy over decorated cards, chocolates and sweethearts candies. Question, does anyone know the true meaning behind Valentine’s Day?

Valentine ’s Day is not just about cards, candy, and a baby in a diaper toting an arrow. It’s not exactly one of those Holidays that people can take off work; it’s more of a symbolic day that happens in the month of February. According to Nancy Rosin President of the National Valentine Collector’s Association, Valentines where the most personal ways of communication between people in the 1800s. Some were rejections and some were proposals. St. Valentine's Day, or as we know it today as Valentine’s Day, marks the legacy of both Christian and ancient Roman religious tradition. One legend often told is that Saint Valentine, himself, was said to be the first to actually send a 'valentine' greeting. While he was imprisoned, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl who could have been his jailer's daughter who had visited him during his confinement.

Here’s a little known fact, according to the Greeting Card association Valentine’s Day is the second largest card-sending holiday of the year. So think twice before you just pick a random card for that significant other, I could mean something so much more to them.

Happie Valentines Day
