Tony Hansberry II is a 14 year old freshman who became inspired to research a new way to close wounds created after a woman has a hysterectomy. This thirst for innovative was sparked during his summer internship at the University of Florida’s Center for Simulation Education and Safety Research, located in Shands Jacksonville. As a result, his inquisitive mind has developed a usable surgical technique that will help aid in reducing post-op complications. The bright star is expected to present his findings to board certified professionals in the near future.
This is truly awesome and we thank News One's Casey Gane-Mcalla for sharing this gifted young man's story with the World. Tony, word of advice...never allow yourself to get bigger than the research you study. Stay focused on answering the initial hypothesis and each correlating hypothesis that results from the developing theory. The root basis of scientific research is an inquisitive mind and the World eagerly awaits your future discovers.
Final note, when you reach your collegiate studies...never let the remedialness of the presented material allow you to lose your focus. I say that because by the time you reach college you would have touched much of the base material taught at the undergrad level years prior. That is when mental durability will be required more so than intelligence. Just knock the classes out the park and when you get to Med School, the World will truly be yours.
Make it happen lil man...
